How can we support you today?
Take a look at some of our most asked questions about how we provide Disability Support in Murray Bridge
What services does Alchemy Services provide?
Alchemy Services provides Support Coordination, Disability Support, Behaviour Support, Counselling, Mentoring, Capacity Building, Community Participation and Live N Learn programs. Supports are tailored around each person’s goals, strengths, preferences and circumstances.
Do I need an NDIS plan to access Alchemy services?
While NDIS plans (either Self-Managed or Plan-Managed) make up the majority of our participant funding, we also welcome private-paying individuals. Let's work together to find a path that fits.
How do you match participants with support workers or mentors?
We don't just assign anyone. We look at shared interests, communication styles, sensory preferences, and overall chemistry to make sure you form a genuine, trusting relationship.
What is the difference between Support Connection and Specialist Support Coordination?
Support Connection helps you understand your plan, while Specialist Support Coordination is designed for more complex situations requiring specialized therapeutic or crisis-management frameworks.
How do I transition my current coordination services to Alchemy?
It is extremely straightforward! You can reach out to our intake team. We will handle the paperwork and coordinate with your existing contacts to ensure zero disruption to your daily care.
What goals can I work on with an Alchemy Mentor?
Anything from practising self-advocacy and executive functioning tips, to exploring special interests, mapping out career pathways, or building custom routines that honour your energy levels.
Are mentors trained in neuro-affirming practices?
Absolutely. All Alchemy mentors complete robust neuro-affirming training. We focus on validation, sensory safety, and building genuine human connections rather than teaching masking behaviours.
What kind of community group activities do you offer?
Our group meetups are sensory-friendly and focus on organic socialisation. We run gaming clubs, art workshops, outdoor exploration groups, and life-skills masterclasses based on what our participants request!
Can I get individual support to attend external community events?
Yes, absolutely. If group environments feel overwhelming or you have specific sensory goals, an individual support practitioner can accompany you to any event or venue of your choice.
What is the 'Live N Learn' program?
Live N Learn is our signature transition-to-independence program. It combines practical daily living skills with customised executive-functioning coaching in a supportive, low-pressure home environment.
Is there overnight or short-term accommodation (STA) included?
Yes! We offer fully integrated Short-Term Accommodation (STA) and Medium-Term options that are built to provide a sensory-friendly 'home-away-from-home' experience with 24/7 matching support.
How does neuro-affirming counselling differ from traditional therapy?
Traditional therapy sometimes focuses on compliance or curing differences. Our neuro-affirming counselling focuses on self-discovery, unpacks internalised masking, validates sensory trauma, and celebrates your neurotype.
Can I access counselling online (telehealth)?
Yes, we offer both in-person sessions at our quiet, low-sensory clinic spaces and telehealth (video/audio calls) so you can join from whichever environment makes you feel safest.
What is a positive behaviour support plan (PBSP)?
It's a collaborative road map designed to understand the underlying messages behind distress or challenging behaviours. We focus strictly on environment modifications, sensory profiles, and communication.
How do you involve families and support networks in behaviour support?
We work hand-in-hand with you, your family, your educators, and other support teams. True support only works when everyone in your ecosystem understands and respects your unique profile.
